What is organic and sustainable seafood?

One of the objectives is that farming of the organisms is in accordance with the applicable rules
for organic production throughout the whole life cycle

- Stricter requirements by consumers regarding food.
- Environment and cleanliness - fewer additives, chemicals or medicines.
- Focus on the animals being grown in as close to natural surroundings as possible.
- Consumers who choose organic seafood are conscious consumers who wish to choose
   among products which satisfy their requirements and wishes Organic certification shall ensure this.

Quality of the environment - emphasizes the quality of the marine environment,
biological coexistence under the water and with the fjord conditional and the nature sounding.
Supervision includes ecologic balancing, emphasizing minimizing the impact on the nature
while keeping out any environmentally harmful chemicals.

Living conditions – organic fish live out their lives in spacious surroundings with a minimum of stress.

Nutrition – strict control by the organic organization, fish are fed only food from natural sources and organic background, avoiding non approved food additives, vitamins or medical additives, or avoiding over feeding.
Only naturally produced organic approved color produced from prawn shells, alga, fungus and bacterial cultures
are used to create an attractive product.

Biological warfare against parasite and disease - the use of natural biological solutions
such as getting help from different fish that breed in symbiosis and similarly, these fish feed on natural parasites,
keeping the farm areas clean by eating the alga on the nets, and keeping the balance of the surroundings.

The advantages of organic marine farming compared with wild fish caught at sea are:
availability, fast growth, controlled nutrition and equable fish quality, hygiene and healthy
(parasite disease and pollution that could be found in wild fish).
