| December 23, 1998 Mr. Jim Skildum Magnum Research 7110 University Avenue NE Minneapolis, MN 55432 Dear Jim: THANKS FOR LETTING ME HAVE YOUR .45-70 SINGLE ACTION FOR THESE FEW DAYS! Data for your files (each average 10 shots): Winchester 405 gr. 1110 fps Remington 405 gr. 1060 fps Garrett 415 gr. 1188 fps CorŽBon 350 gr. 1424 fps (Bonded-Core Flat Point) This data with/through Ken Oehler's 35P chronograph - start screen at 10 feet. This shooting at 25 yards, where I do ALL my chronographing. Two 5-shot groups with Cor-Bon 350s measured (average of the two) .75" edge to edge. Deduct bullet diameter and they were, literally, one hole. If you haven't tried them you need to. Stretch this out to 100 yards - which I consider maximum - and you will find a whole lot of ACCURATE riffles not capable of duplicating what CorŽBon 350s did in YOUR .45-70 Single Action. Thanks again for allowing me these few days with your BFR. Anytime I might be able to help let me know. Sincerely in His service. Hal Swiggett Isaiah 6:8 |
