In 1994, RSD developed its first line of ballistic protection products, using technologies and experience gained over the past 35 years in the design, production and testing of composite material components for the aerospace and ordnance industries.

All our products meet or exceed the standards of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the US Army and Air Force; are certified and conform to or are designed to defeat all NIJ Standard 0101.03 threat levels; and meet standard requirements of numerous military and law enforcement agencies worldwide.

PERSONAL BODY ARMOR

  • Low Cost
  • Certified to NIJ IIIA
  • Optional Add-Ons

The ASA-10 semi-flexible personal body armor system is ergonomically designed for maximum protection, comfort and freedom of movement even during prolonged periods of use. This high performance, thin, anti-fragmentation, lightweight personal body protection armor affords both front and back protection against level IIIA and lesser ballistic threats.

The outer vest carrier is of a water resistant, breathable, machine washable material incorporating four individual VelcroTM straps (two on shoulder and two on waist) affording both optimal comfort of fit and ease of use.

Optional front and rear pockets are included to accommodate optional armor inserts to up-grade to higher potential threat levels when necessary. The ASA-10 also gives increased protection from blunt instrument (25 Joules, conforming to German standard), ice pick, chemical and fire threats.

When you consider an up to 30% weight savings over conventional body armor, the incorporation of trauma attenuation (in total vest area), greatly reducing the bullet shock energy to the wearer and the recycling ability due to the advance composite materials used, you will not be punished with this protection.

In keeping with the philosophy of "over-all protection", the Rocket Systems Division (RSD) of Israel Military Industries, Ltd. (IMI) developed, in conjunction with its personal body armor system, lightweight ballistic armor panels for civilian and military vehicle protection and other uses.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Israel Police, public transportation companies, and private concerns are major customers for lightweight protective armor.

RSD is certified by the IDF to produce panels for bus, jeep and other vehicle protection where its effectiveness has already been proven in actual life-threatening situations.

The panels, the result of RSD's intensive development efforts to provide armor protection for light vehicles, are manufactured from lightweight composite materials, easily fitted on all vulnerable areas of the vehicle, providing all around protection.

Composite armor provides effective ballistic protection against low, medium and high threat protection levels. Whether tailored to meet specific requirements or off-the-shelf, if your needs call for lightweight vehicle protection, be it military, buses, cash carrying, private, boats, private or public homes or institutions or helicopters, RSD's ballistic armor panels are your cost effective superior protection solution.

IMI Semi-Flexible Vest Advantages

Using proprietary technologies, lower vest weights (over comparable vests) are achieved.

Without the need of an additional trauma plate, low trauma is realized for the total vest area.

Knife protection (25 joules according to the German standard) for the total protective area.

Autoclave technology allows for high quality, fast and inexpensive mass manufacturing of final product.

Exceeds, conforms, or is certified to NIJ threat levels IIIA, III and IV and other world accepted standards.

  • Thin
  • Water resistant
  • Excellent shock wave protection
  • Low or no spall
  • Anti-Fragmentation
  • Full protection up to 25mm from vest seams (NIJ and international testing require a minimum of 75mm)

Waiver
The ballistic threat of any bullet depends on, among other criteria, the bullet's shape, composition, mass, impact velocity, caliber and angle of incidence. Due to the wide range of available projectiles in a given caliber and to the existence of differing load bands, the defeat of a specific bullet by a specific manufacturer, may not defeat the same caliber bullet produced by a second manufacturer.

Ballistic vests, inserts and panels are designed to stop designated projectiles in accordance with specific threat levels and must be selected in accordance with these specific levels. All items are manufactured and labeled to comply with the National Institute of Justice 0101.03 standard. Further, only the area covered by inserts is ballistically upgraded.

Considerations When Choosing Personal Body Armor
  • Weight
  • Comfort
  • Price
  • Blunt Trauma
  • Angle Shots
  • Stab Resistance

Weight, comfort and price are three personal considerations that go together. When you are wearing an item that adds additional mass for prolonged periods, weight and comfort play a most important part in usage of any life saving ballistic protection system.

By using the most advanced composite materials and proprietary manufacturing techniques, RSD has produced a line of products that will not "weigh you down" physically or financially. Designed to the contours of the body, lightweight breathable materials are used to enhance both protection and comfort at a reasonable price. We understand that a vest not worn places the "non-user" in a substantially greater risk category, so by producing a lightweight, comfortable, affordable ballistic protective system, we significantly reduce these worries for the wearers and their families.

Blunt trauma is another important consideration. The blunt trauma effect can render the wearer non-operational. RSD, using a combination of the world's strongest and lightweight fibers, ensures that the impact energy is dissipated very quickly over the protected area with minimum trauma to the wearer, allowing the user to remain operational.

Enhanced angle shot protection against non-perpendicular shooting threats.

Conforms to or is designed to defeat worldwide military and law enforcement agency standards for stab resistance.
