Cod is the most economically important marine fish in Norway. Cod is found
extensively in the northern reaches of the Atlantic Ocean.
We generally
differentiate between two main categories of cod: the migratory oceanic cod
(Norwegian Arctic cod
(spawning cod))
and the non-migratory
coastal cod.
The coastal cod is a typical bottom-dwelling fish,
usually found down to depths of approximately
600 metres, whereas the migratory cod is more pelagic.
The Norwegian Artic cod is the most important stock.
The mature spawning cod of this stock is known
as Skrei.
In addition to the wild caught cod, farmed cod is available
also today,
as well as a certified Organic Cod..

Cod caught all year round
